Another application for FLIR thermal imaging cameras in wind power generation

In spite of the many applications that FLIR thermal imaging cameras have been used in, it is still widening its tentacles. Researchers at Korea Institute of Standards & Science (KRISS) in spearheading international effort, are using FLIR thermal imaging cameras to develop standards for non-destructive testing of metallic and composite materials used in wind power generators.

Using FLIR SC-5000 series, a thermal imaging test procedure was developed b KRISS to offer advantage of obtaining instant results with non-contact inspection over the whole blade without having to dissemble the blade from the wind power generator.
