Battery performance improved with thermal imaging camera

Researchers have found a new way to improve upon the quality control of lithium-ion batteries. A thermal camera was used to record flaws that were detected as the batteries were being manufactured. The aim of this research was to ensure advancement in the consistency of the batteries.

Difference in thickness, air bubbles and contaminants were some defects that were exposed using the thermal imaging process. These factors could affect the performance of the battery. This technique is fast and accurate, demonstrating an ideal method of ensuring quality production in a manufacturing company.
