California’s Powerhouse fire captured in infrared image

NASA has again used its MASTER instrument to capture an infrared composite image of California’s Powerhouse Fire. MASTER is a facility instrument of the NASA Earth Science Division which is operated by the Airborne Sensor Facility at Ames Research Center. In different colours, the image captured by this instrument shows the intensity of the heat from the fire. The colour composite of the image comes in three infrared bands of the MASTER instrument which flew aboard the NASA ER-2 aircraft on May 31 and June 1.
