Child safety ensured at Turkey airport using thermal imaging

Thermal imaging safety system has been installed in the Sabiha Gökçen International Airport Istanbul, Turkey. This system will automatically shut down the conveyor belts as soon as a person enters the baggage handling are.

This measure has been taken to ensure the safety of children who escape their parents’ sight and mischievously enter into the baggage belt conveyor system through the rubber flaps. This safety system consists of four FLIR A310 thermal imaging cameras with temperature threshold set at around 31°C.
