Sea rescue team receives donation for purchase of thermal imaging cameras
The Smith Point Sea Rescue received a donation of $3,000 from the Rive Counties Community Foundation. The grant is meant to be used to purchase hand-held thermal imaging devices to provide valuable assistant in locating disabled boaters at night or in situations where visibility is low.

According to a board member Andy Kauders, these devices have the ability to clearly show details of images when it is aimed at persons and objects in total darkness or in fog.
