Thermal imaging cameras used to ensure safety

A Windham home owner reported that his house had been struck by lightning on Monday. He explained that he could smell odor and wood burning in the attic area of the house. Police and Fire officials went to the scene to conduct a thorough survey of the building.

After evacuating the home, firefighters detected an electrical odor in the attic. They also found an area on the roof where lightning had entered and pass through the electrical wiring.

The lightning damaged smoke detectors and circuit breakers. With thermal imaging cameras, the firemen ensured that there was no fire in the house.
