Thermal imaging reveals Pavlof Volcano heating up
The Alaska Volcano Observatory again earlier this week raised the alert level for the Pavlof Volcano to orange. This is due to an increasing chance that the Aleutian Chain volcano will erupt. An evidence of this was collected on May 13 when thermal imaging was used to reveal that the volcano was heating up. Satellite images showed southeast winds carrying ash plume 30 miles from Pavlof.
